In another situation, the analyst for a site called ES&H with a sudden large loss on a tank system at a site. A Maintenance crew was dispatched that day for tank and line tests. This was done immediately because other maintenance had been recently performed. The maintenance company reported back the same day that a leak had been found on the tank. It was being caused by an old abandoned line on the top of the tank. This information was relayed to the analyst responsible for the site. After a review of this information, the analyst suggested that the maintenance company look for another problem on this tank. Based on the loss trend discovered, the type of leak discovered would not be enough to cause a loss trend of this caliber.
The next day when the first repair was made another test was performed and failed. Another release was found on this tank. |
